Note for the Reader.

THE present volume, the fourth issued for the Diocese of Hereford, comprises the parishes of Stanton Lacy and Bitterley.

The Council desire to place on record the fact that Sir Charles Rouse-Boughton, Bart., bore the whole expense of transcribing these registers, and they desire, on behalf of the members of the Society, to tender him their grateful thanks for thus aiding in the work of preserving our registers. They have also to thank the incumbents of Stanton Lacy and Bitterley for allowing the registers to be printed.

As in previous volumes the entries have been reduced to a common form and the usual contractions have been freely adopted.
