Note for the Reader.

The sixteenth volume of the Registers of the Diocese of Hereford, now completed, contains the Registers of Oldbury, Church Preen, Burford, Badger, Willey, Neen Sollars, and Milson.

In this, as in all previous volumes issued by the the Society, the Registers are not printed in full, but in an abbreviated form which can readily be understood, though every salient fact has been recorded, and all remarkable events, occurrences, etc., noted in the Registers have been given in full. A list of the abbreviations adopted will be found in the " Note for the Reader " printed in many of the earlier volumes of the Registers.

The value of the Badger Registers is increased by the addition of the Transcripts preserved at Hereford of an earlier lost Register, through which the entries for forty three additional years have been here given.

A capital letter after " of " or " p " denotes the parish whose particular Register is dealt with, thus "of O." = "of Oldbury," and "p. B. " = " parish of Burford."

Thanks are due to the Incumbents of the several parishes for leave to print their Registers, and for facilities afforded in their transcription and collation. Also to Mrs Baldwyn Childe, Miss Auden, Miss Joyce, Mr T. R. Horton, and the Revs. J. P. Wright, R. Jowett Barton, and W. G. D. Fletcher, for transcribing and collating, to Lord Forester and Mrs. Baldwyn Childe for defraying the cost of Willey, and to the latter for raising the money for Burford, also to the Rev. A. W.
